LASRV does not handle every request for assistance, but never charges a fee for its services.  LASRV does not handle criminal, traffic, personal injury, malpractice, property damage or cases where a private lawyer would take the case and obtain a fee from the other side or from recovery.

How Do I Contact Legal Aid About A Problem?

The Legal Aid Society’s office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Clients are seen by appointment only. Applications can also be made online or by telephone at (540) 344-2080. For general information please email us.

 

Who Can Receive Assistance?

The Legal Aid Society helps clients residing in the Roanoke Valley area, which includes Roanoke, Salem, Lexington, Covington, Clifton Forge, Bedford, Botetourt, Craig, Franklin, Alleghany, Rockbridge and Bath.  The Legal Aid Society of Roanoke Valley coordinates with another program, Blue Ridge Legal Services, to provide a range of civil services.
